Raging Flood Waters in Las Vegas

Vegas has a rainy season and we are in the middle of it.  The problem with the Vegas and storms is that the ground here is like cement.  Water just runs off.  This can create some interesting driving conditions.  This is a photo of Farm Road in North Las Vegas.

This view is from a pick up truck.  The street turned into a river.
This is really not unusual for Vegas.  Every year there are floods in Vegas.  It was worse this year because of a large fire in the mountains just west of the city.  There was no vegetation to slow the run off.

I also have a video from a year ago when the roads flooded and intersection disappeared.  This was as a result of a sudden thunder storm that swept through the city.
