The Duke of Fremont Street - Attacker's Attempted Murder Trial Set

The assailant of the Duke of Fremont Street has been returned to Nevada to stand trial.  Edmond Price was in custody in California where he was arrested on June 29, 2010 on unrelated charges. Nevada has been seeking his return ever since.

The Duke had agreed to meet Price at Whiskey Pete's in Primm to purchase gold and silver.  The Duke was carrying $137,000 at the time.  Price and his girl friend, Victoria  Elizabeth Edelman "allegedly" attacked the Duke inflicting numerous injuries including broken bones and stab wounds.  The Duke was overcome and was bound with duct tape.  Thinking the Duke was secure Price and his girlfriend went into the bathroom to clean off the blood from the fight and perhaps to count their haul.  Somehow while they were distracted, the Duke managed to loosen himself and got out of the room.  Dazed and bloodied he made his way to the front desk of the hotel.  Price and Edelman made their escape with the $137,000 to California.  The $137,000 has never been recovered.

Price is being tried separately from Edelman and has requested a speedy trial.  The trial is currently set for August 22, 2011
